About Speaker
Dr P G Tadasad is presently working as Professor and Chairman in the Department of Library and Information Science, Karnataka State Women’s University, Vijayapura. He has 23 years of teaching experience in this and also in Gulbarga University. He is also working as Special Officer to Vice Chancellor and Director Gandhi Studies Center. He has published 159 research papers and edited 8 books. He has successfully completed UGC – Major Research Project entitled “Information support to economically weaker group of women in Karnataka State: A Study. 9 students have successfully completed their Ph D and 5 M Phil under his guidance and 8 are presently working under his supervision. He has served the university in various capacities as Member Academic Council, Member of IQAC, Coordinator, Legal Cell, NAAC steering committee convenor, university nodal officer for RUSA, Nodal officer KSET Examinations 2015 Vijayapuara center, Director PME Board, University Librarian Nodal Officer for the University under NMEICT project and Development Officer. He is a recipient of AG Motiwale Award for Young Professionals 2002 for Best Paper at 48th All India Library Conference of ILA held at NIMHANS, Bangalore, 2003. His area of interest include: User Studies, Knowledge Organization Systems, Digital Divide and Academic Libraries. He possesses relevant ICT skills, and also sound knowledge of Research Methods.
